Alabama Adventure

Valoree, Elizabeth, and I took the kids to Alabama Adventure. It rained on and off pretty much the whole time but it was still a lot of fun. The kids were so good and had a great time. John Evan got a little upset that he couldn't ride everything. Thank goodness Elizabeth was there to ride with the kids! I get sick and Val wanted to ride-but is pregnant. I was so proud of Sydney Kate for being so brave.
Roller coaster- I love this picture cause they are laughing!

The water park was really neat. Unfortunately, the kids were pretty cold after getting rained on.

After a couple of time John Evan got used to the slide and went without holding my hand!

Natalie wins and well kinda Heidi too

My new calling is PRIMARY PRESIDENT. I am really excited and nervous and overwhelmed and all that good stuff. I know it will be a huge growing experience for me and for that reason I am greatful.
The primary is our name for children's church. So, therefore I will be over all of the children's programs (classes, nursery, scouts, activities etc. etc) . The good news is that I will have 2 counselors and a secretary that are WONDERFUL! Mary is my secretary and she is the most organized person I know-so YAY!
Thanks to everybody who put in some good guesses.

Chris's dad went home today. He is doing well and able to be up and moving around a little. It's just going to be kinda day to day. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and concerns!

update on Rick

Chris's daddy went into surgery about 7:15am. Everything went well. It just took longer than expected. The piece was flat and smooth so it was hard to find. It ended up being lodged between the sack that holds his heart and the sack that holds his lungs. Which is pretty good news because it only bruised his lung and did not do any damage to his heart. After recovery they were able to send him back to a regular room instead of ICU-more good news. He has been pretty much sleeping all day and will be in the hospital until atleast Monday. Thank you all for your prayers and sweet comments. Thanks to Stephanie A. for watching the kids this morning so I could be at the hospital.

This has made me think a lot about never knowing what could happen. Luckily, Rick is going to be okay but I can't help to think that it could have been a lot worse. I think about what if that would have happend to Chris. I know I can't focus on that and I just need to be thankful for my blessings. I am so thankful for my wonderful family, immediate, and in-laws, and extended. What a great group of people they really are. I am also thankful for all my wonderful friends-near and far. Since I joined facebook I have been able to catch up with some old friends. It really makes me miss them and miss the old times. I know my future is full of wonderful times to come-so I will focus on that and not the past.
Sorry to ramble! Good night!

Chris's daddy in hospital

Chris's daddy is in the hospital probably until Sunday. He works in the coal mines in Brookwood and was in an accident today. He had a piece of metal go into his chest. He is having surgery early in the morning. It's going to be just like open heart surgery because of where the metal is. It is a small piece so they are going to go in and remove it. The doctor's say he will be recovering until about January-not good news for his hunting hobby. No seriously-please keep him in your prayers. Have a great night!

facebook

So, I finally joined facebook. I kept putting it off because I knew I did not need anymore excuses to spend time on the computer. But-I did it anyway! So, if you are on there I would love for you to add me as a friend!

Alabama Football

We LOVE football season in the ole' Sprayberry household. Last weekend we went out to the quad. I love this picture of the kids standing in line holding hands. It was SO hot! John Evan fell asleep with his hand in the Teddy Grahams.
One of Sydney Kate's favorite things about it is seeing the cheerleaders and band members. They were sweet enough to pose for a quick picture.
My friend, Stephanie, is a cop and we ran into her out there. She is super cute in her gear! HAHA!
Two weekends ago we had some friends and family over to watch the game on pay-per-view. The game cut off about 4 minutes in. Chris was on hold with Charter for almost 2 hours. Needless to say he was very upset and we have changed companies! Our guests were nice enough to stick around and just listen to the game on the radio. It helped that we had lots of good food to eat! Here are the kids playing. They were all so good!
Back to the quad.... Sydney Kate loves to eat peanuts. Our friend's always have them at their tent and that is the first stop she wants to make.

I LOVE THIS!
Playing on the jumpy things
It took John Evan forever to warm up but he finally did and loved it!

Chipmunks

Sydney Kate has had her first and second soccer game. It is so cute to see them running around the field. I had to put Chris in "time-out" for hollering when Sydney accidently "tackeled" a little boy. Sydney Kate is much more interested in waving at her family than kicking the ball! John Evan has done really well! I thought he was going to be hard to keep off the soccer field. But as long as he has a sucker he is fine!
At the end of the game the coach gives out stars that stand for different things. The first game Sydney got the Christ like star for helping up another player when he fell down. It probably helped that the other player happened to be her boyfriend!
The coach's wife had some cute shirts made up for the family members.

At the beginning of each game the coach calls out the player's names and they run to the middle of the field. They play loud music over the speaker and everyone is clapping. It's really cute!

The Chipmunks

Thank you so much to Valoree, Hudson, Chandler, YaYa, Pop, Chad, and Nonna for coming to watch the game!

Closing a chapter

Well, we are closing a chapter in our life. We spent the last 14 months serving in our church branch in Greensboro. I have to admit that it was challenging for many different reasons but it was also a really good experience for our whole family. Our testimonies had an oportunity to grow and we learned so much. I especially grew to love the children there. They are so sweet and just full of life.

So, we will start back going to church in Tuscaloosa on Sunday and I already have a calling. I'm going to pull an Ashley and see if anyone can guess what it is. The only hint I can give you is that I am going to be REALLY OVER WHELMED!

Thanks for everyone who took the time to vote on my silly pole! Looks like we'll be letting John Evan's hair go a little longer! YAY for curls!

Fun weekend

Saturday night we went to my friend Kim's house to watch the game. They set up a big projector type screen outside. She has three kids so Sydney Kate and John Evan had a blast with them! We got home after 11pm and the kids were exhausted! ROLL TIDE!

We had a great and busy Labor Day weekend. The whole fam damily went to Snow Hinton park on Monday.
Katelyn(Elizabeth's baby) and Colt(Mary's baby) Valoree (expecting baby girl in December) and Ashley
I am trying to talk Valoree into naming her baby Caroline but I don't think she is listening! HAHA!

Shelby came home from the park with us to spend the night.
Sydney Kate's new chearleading outfit.
Chandler and Sydney Kate at the park
Drew riding his scooter
Pappy was teaching the girls how to be chearleaders!
The guys playing football. Chris was SO SO sore for several days! He had to pick his leg up in the truck to move from gas to brake!
